Sample Questions for Entry-Level Candidates

Entry Level Candidates
College and graduate students may not have a great deal of business or corporate experiences. Be sensitive to this and be sure to study both their resume and the questions you plan to ask. The more you can customize the question to get a student to apply his/her educational experience to frame the response, the better it will predict future behavior. You should expect a hypothetical response as opposed to what the candidate did.
Good questions for an entry-level candidate include:
“I see that you participated on a robotics and artificial intelligence project your Junior year. Can you tell me what role you played?”
“…How do you think that project may have helped you prepare for a project with our company?”
“I see that you were the treasurer for your college lacrosse team. What were some challenges in that position?”
“How many ping-pong balls fit in a 757?”
